Sending text message rewards

Using Tremendous, you can send payouts to your recipients via text message.

Send a reward via text message

1. From the sidebar, click Send rewards > Send via text message.
2. Select a campaign.
3. Enter your recipient's name, phone number, and the amount you wish to send them.
4. Select your payment method and optionally enter an external ID for internal billing or tracking purposes. The order ID must be unique — if it has been used before, the order will fail.
5. Click Place order.

The recipient phone number field does not accept brackets. Phone numbers can be entered with dashes (XXX-XXX-XXXX) or without.

For international numbers, the country code can be entered with a + sign (+XX XXX-XXX-XXXX) or without. If no country code is entered, the reward will default to +1.

Banking regulations and local carrier restrictions prevent text message rewards from being sent to recipients in certain countries. Learn more about recipient restrictions.

Adding recipients

There are two ways to add recipients:

1. Manually enter each recipient's information
2. Upload a spreadsheet

It is recommended to upload a spreadsheet in case your order is not successful and you have to try again. To upload a spreadsheet:

1. Select Upload CSV or spreadsheet > Download CSV template.
2. Open the file in your spreadsheet software of choice and enter your recipients' information.
3. Save the file in CSV format. To ensure that characters render correctly, save your CSV using UTF-8 encoding.
4. Upload the file to Tremendous.

Using the downloaded template will ensure that the columns are formatted correctly and that your file will upload successfully.

If you're ordering text message rewards for recipients located outside of the US, please note that some spreadsheet programs won't save the + sign when exporting files to CSV format. To prevent this, add an apostrophe in front of the value ( '+XX XXX-XXX-XXXX ).
