Cancel a reward

Rewards can be cancelled if they meet both of the following criteria:

  1. The reward has not yet been redeemed
  2. The reward was purchased within the last seven days

To cancel a reward, navigate to Orders & rewards > Reward history, open the reward you wish to cancel, and select Cancel.

Once cancelled, recipients will be notified by email, and a refund will be issued to the original payment method. If you paid for the order using your prefund balance, the refund will return to your prefund balance.

If the Cancel option is not available, the reward has already been redeemed and/or falls outside the 7-day window for cancellation.

FAQ

What does it mean when a reward is redeemed?

Once a payout option has been chosen, the reward is considered to be redeemed, even if the recipient hasn't used their gift card yet.

Why can't redeemed rewards be cancelled?

Most types of payouts can't be cancelled because the funds have already left Tremendous' system.

  • Merchant gift card codes are purchased from Tremendous' supplier and sent to your recipient. Most suppliers have strict no-refund policies once a gift card code has been generated, even if it's unused.
  • Monetary payouts, such as bank transfers or PayPal transfers, are sent to your recipient's account within minutes of redeeming. For these types of transfers, it's not possible for the sender to initiate a reversal.
  • Charity donations are sent to Tremendous' charitable donation partner upon redemption.

It is sometimes possible for the Tremendous support team to cancel a redeemed reward, such as an unspent Visa card or a monetary payout that couldn't be deposited successfully. If you need to cancel a redeemed reward, contact us at clients@tremendous.com

How can I cancel a reward past 7 days?

You can cancel rewards past 7 days if they failed to deliver to the recipient. To cancel a reward that failed delivery, navigate to Orders & rewards > Reward history, open the reward you wish to cancel, and select Cancel.

If you need to cancel a successfully delivered reward that's more than 7 days old, contact the support team for assistance at clients@tremendous.com. However, please be aware that redeemed rewards usually cannot be cancelled.
