Sending SMS rewards

Using Tremendous, you can send payouts to your recipients via SMS text.

Send a reward via SMS

1. From the sidebar, click Send rewards > Send via SMS text.
2. Select a campaign.
3. Enter your recipient's name, phone number, and the amount you wish to send them.
4. Select your payment method and optionally enter your own order ID for internal billing or tracking purposes. The order ID must be unique — if it has been used before, the order will fail.
5. Click Place order.

The recipient phone number field does not accept brackets. Phone numbers can be entered with dashes, eg. XXX-XXX-XXXX, or without. For international numbers, the area code can be entered using a + sign, eg. +XX XXX-XXX-XXXX, or without.

Banking regulations and local carrier restrictions prevent SMS rewards from being sent to certain recipients. Learn more about recipient restrictions.

Adding recipients

There are two ways to add recipients:

1. Manually enter each recipient's information
2. Upload a spreadsheet

It is recommended to upload a spreadsheet in case your order is not successful and you have to try again. To upload a spreadsheet:

1. Click Upload CSV or spreadsheet > Download CSV template.
2. Open the file in your spreadsheet software of choice and enter your recipients' information.
3. Save the file in CSV format. To ensure that characters render correctly, save your CSV using UTF-8 encoding.
4. Upload the file to Tremendous.

Using the downloaded template will ensure that the columns are formatted correctly and that your file will upload successfully.

If you're ordering SMS rewards for recipients located outside of the US, please note that some spreadsheet programs won't save the + sign when exporting files to CSV format. To prevent this, add an apostrophe in front of the value, eg. '+XX XXX-XXX-XXXX.
