Custom fields are used to capture additional information about your digital rewards, such as a study name or project number. Account admins can create custom fields in the Team settings tab of the dashboard.
Creating custom fields
To create a field:
- In the left-hand menu, go to Team settings > Custom fields.
- In the upper right-hand corner, click Add custom field.
- Add the field details:
- Name the field
- Add an optional description which will be displayed for your team in the Add recipients step
- Specify the field type (e.g. checkbox, number, text)
- You can optionally click the Make this a required field check box to make it mandatory. Team members won't be able to place an order if a required field is left blank.
- Save your changes.
Once your changes have been saved, the field will appear in the Add recipients step when you order digital rewards. Team members can complete the fields to include additional information about each reward.
Deactivating fields
To deactivate a field, go to Team settings > Custom fields and click the Active toggle next to the field in question.
Fields can be deleted by clicking the three-dot menu next to the field in question, then selecting Delete. Data captured by the deleted field will be preserved for previous rewards and will continue to show in reports.
Using custom fields in reward messaging
By default, custom fields are not visible to your recipients and only show up in your reward report. However, you can choose to include custom fields in your reward messaging if you'd like to expose certain information to your recipients, such as the study number they participated in, the name of the person who referred them to your business, etc.
To include a custom field in your reward messaging:
- In the left-hand menu, go to Campaigns.
- Click Actions > Edit messaging on the desired campaign template.
- On the left-hand side of the campaign editor, click Add variable within the Content tab to see the available custom fields you've created.
- Click on a field to insert it into your messaging.
