Activating Physical Visa cards
You must activate your Physical Visa card before you use it if:
- You received your card in the mail
- You intend to add your card to a digital wallet, such as Apple Pay or Google Wallet

If you were given your Physical Visa card in-person and you do not intend to add it to a digital wallet, the card is already ready to use.
Using Physical Visa cards
Physical Visa cards can be used both in-store and online.
- When paying in-store, select “credit” instead of “debit”. Debit transactions may be declined.
- When paying online, select “credit” as the payment method and enter the 16-digit card number, expiration date, and CVV like a normal credit card. Physical Visa cards can be used with any billing address.

Any transaction you make must be equal to or less than the remaining balance on the card. If you want to make a purchase that’s greater than your remaining balance, ask the cashier if you can make a split transaction for the card’s remaining balance. What merchants will accept my Physical Visa card?
You can use your Physical Visa card at merchants based in 215 supported countries, excluding certain prohibited merchants:
- Money transfers
- Firearm-related businesses
- Outbound telemarketing
- Tobacco businesses
- Marijuana-related businesses
- Money services from non-financial institutions (including cryptocurrency)
- Securities brokers/dealers
- Dating services
- Massage parlors
- Government-owned lotteries
- Government-licensed online casinos, online gambling
- Government-licensed horse/dog racing
- Betting, including lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, off-track betting, and wagers at race tracks
- Recurring subscription or installment payments, including bill payments
Pay-at-the-pump gas purchases are restricted. To purchase gas, you must go inside and prepay with a cashier.
Charity donations are considered cash-equivalent and will be declined. If you'd like to donate your reward to charity, contact the reward sender and ask about charity donation options.
