Tips for spending virtual prepaid cards

Tremendous’ virtual prepaid cards do not have physical equivalents. Virtual prepaid cards can be spent in-person or online.

Spending your card in-person

Physical stores usually don’t accept printed copies of virtual cards. To spend your card in a physical store:

1. Add your card to a digital wallet like Apple Wallet or Google Pay. For instructions, see: Can I add my card to Apple Pay or Google Wallet?
2. The next time you shop at a physical store, ask the cashier if you can pay by credit card and have your mobile device ready.
3. Open the digital wallet app on your mobile device and tap it on the payment terminal to complete payment.

Spending your card online

You can spend your virtual prepaid card online like a regular credit card. When checking out online, select "credit" as the method of payment and enter your 16-digit card number, expiration date, and CVV like you would normally. To view your card information, see: How do I access my card?

If you shop at Amazon.com and the remaining balance of your card is $5 or more, you can add your card balance directly to your Amazon.com account balance. For more information, see: How do I add my prepaid card to my Amazon account?

Spending small balances

When using your Tremendous prepaid card, any transaction you make must be equal to or less than the remaining balance on the card. If you try to make a transaction greater than the remaining balance, the card will decline.

Most physical stores allow split transactions, where you can pay for a single transaction with two or more payment methods. To make a split transaction:

1. Add your card to a digital wallet like Apple Wallet or Google Pay. For instructions, see: Can I add my card to Apple Pay or Google Wallet?
2. The next time you shop at a physical store, ask the cashier if you can make a split transaction for the card’s remaining balance. If you’re not sure how much balance is left on your card, see: How do I check my card balance?
3. Open the digital wallet app on your mobile device and tap it on the payment terminal to complete payment.
