Why was my API key deactivated?

Tremendous automatically deactivates API keys that haven't been used in at least 180 days. This is a preventive security measure. Unused keys can still provide access to your account, and deactivating them reduces the risk of unauthorized use.

Your other API keys aren't affected. If you no longer need the affected integration, no action is needed.

What happens when a key is deactivated?

Requests using a deactivated key will fail. We email your team admins with the deactivated key's name, creator, and last-used date.

How can I keep a key active?

If you receive a deactivation warning, make an API request with each key you want to keep before the deadline in the email. No action is needed for a key you no longer need.

How do I restore access?

A team admin can create a new API key under Team settings > Developers. Replace the old key in your integration with the new one.
