Export recipient tax data

Before you begin

Please review the Setup W-9 collection articles to configure W-9 collection, as well as other features to help improve your tax reporting accuracy.

At the end of the year, you can easily export your recipient tax data for compliance and reporting. Tremendous provides simple exports to help you with your 1099 filing requirements.

What you can do

  • Download recipient W-9 information and reward amounts
  • Track which recipients have provided W-9 information

When to use

  • At year-end for 1099 preparation
  • During tax season to reconcile payment information

Important notes

Exports include W‑9s collected via Tremendous. If a recipient never redeemed (or never completed a W‑9), you may need to collect and record that information separately.

Exporting recipient W-9 data and reward volume

Tremendous allows you to export recipient tax data, including W-9 information and reward volume. This is useful for tax reporting purposes and preparing for 1099 filing.

Export options

There are two main export options:

  • Standard export (without TINs)
  • Full export (with TINs included)

Exporting with and without TINs

The standard export option allows users to quickly export recipient data without including Tax Identification Numbers (TINs).

  • Step-by-step instructions:
    1. From the sidebar, go to Taxes → Recipients
    2. Select any relevant filters for the export (e.g., Year, Tax Entity, W-9 status)
    3. Click Export
    4. Decide to check/uncheck the Include TINs checkbox
    5. Click Export

⚠️ Important: Exports containing TINs include highly sensitive personal information. Ensure you handle this data securely and in compliance with your organization's data security policies and applicable regulations.
