Account balance (prefunding)

Overview

You can deposit funds into your Tremendous account's prefunded balance to use for orders. You can add funds to your account using a credit card, a connected US bank account, or an invoice.

To prefund your account:

  1. In the left-hand menu, navigate to Billing > Balance and select Add funds.

  2. Continue to follow the prompts for your preferred payment method. Your remaining balance can be transferred to a bank account at any time.

Payment status

If we haven't yet received your payment, it will be listed as pending in your account balance. Once the funds become available, team admins will be notified via email.

How long does it take for funds to become available?

This depends on the method you used to send the money.

Payment method Typical timeline
Credit card 1 business hour
Bank withdrawal (US) 1-4 business days
Domestic wire (US) 1 business day after you send the funds
ACH (US) 1-3 business days after you send the funds
SEPA (EU) 1 business day after you send the funds
CHAPS (UK) 1 business day after you send the funds
FPS (UK) Minutes after you send the funds

Settlement timing for bank withdrawals (US)

When you add funds via a connected bank account, your deposit goes through a short settlement period before the full amount is available to use.

How it works

  • A portion of your deposit may be available right away. The rest typically settles after 4 business days at 9:00 am Eastern time.
  • You can see your available and pending balances in Billing > Balance.
  • Wires, ACH credits, and other deposit methods are not affected. Those funds are available as soon as they arrive.

Deposits that are pending appear in your Transaction history with a "Pending" badge and an expected availability date.

Example: You deposit $15,000 via ACH debit. $5,000 is available right away. The remaining $10,000 becomes available 4 business days later. You can use the $5,000 immediately and will see the rest move to your available balance on the expected date.

The amount available right away depends on your account. You can see this in Billing > Balance.

How this affects orders

If you pay for an order via a connected bank account, some orders may be placed on hold until your funds settle after 4 business days. The expected send date is shown to you before you confirm the order.

What happens if my prefund balance is overdrawn?

If a payment fails, Tremendous will notify you by email. It may take 1-2 business days for a payment to fail. If your prefund balance was used to pay for orders during that time, your prefunded account balance may be negative.

When an account's prefund balance is negative, orders cannot be placed until the account is brought back into good standing. You will see a banner asking you to add funds to your prefund account:

You can bring your account into good standing by sending us a wire payment or contacting clients@tremendous.com to ask about alternate payment options.
