When you add funds via a connected bank account, your deposit goes through a short settlement period.
How settlement works
After you initiate a deposit using a connected bank account, some funds may be available right away. The rest becomes available after a settlement period of 4 business days.
Example: You deposit $10,000 via ACH debit. $5,000 is available right away. The remaining $5,000 becomes available 4 business days later. You can use the $5,000 immediately and will see the rest move to your available balance on the expected date.
The amount available right away depends on your account. You can see this in Billing > Balance.
What's not affected
Settlement timing only applies to ACH debit (bank withdrawal) deposits. These methods are not affected:
- Wire transfers
- ACH credits (deposits you push from your bank)
- Credit card deposits
- SEPA, CHAPS, and FPS transfers
Pending deposits in your Transaction history
Deposits that are still settling appear in Transaction history with a "Pending" badge. Each entry shows the expected date when funds will be available.
If a deposit is partially available, you'll see two line items: one for the immediately available amount and one for the pending amount with its expected availability date.
Orders paid using a connected bank account
If you pay for an order via a connected bank account, your order may be placed on hold until your deposit settles. You'll see the expected send date before you confirm.
Orders are not partially funded. They either send immediately or wait until settlement completes.
Auto-reloads
If your auto-reload uses a connected bank account, some funds from each reload may be available right away, with the rest settling after 4 business days. You can see your settlement details in your Transaction history.
