Fund your account from outside of the US

Different payment methods are available to clients located outside of the US.

Your Tremendous prefund balance is stored in USD, and any arriving EUR or GBP payments will be automatically converted to USD upon arrival using the exchange rate at the time that we receive your funds. You can view the exchange rate used in the Billing > Transaction history tab by downloading the deposit receipt.

Even though prefund balances are stored in USD, rewards can be sent in any supported currency, including USD, EUR, and more. Learn more about sending rewards in other currencies.

Send funds to Tremendous from the EU or UK

  1. Create an invoice. This will tell us how much money to expect to receive. The invoice includes a unique reference code which Tremendous uses to match the payment to your account.
  2. Send funds to Tremendous. The payment method depends on the type of invoice you create:

    • To pay an EUR invoice, initiate a SEPA transfer from your bank.
    • To pay a GBP invoice, initiate a CHAPS or FPS transfer from your bank.

Be sure to include the invoice’s reference code when making the payment.

  3. Wait for your funds to arrive.
    • SEPA (EU) transfers take one business day to arrive, but may take an additional business day if the payment is initiated after your bank’s daily cutoff time. We do not support instant SEPA transfers at this time.
    • CHAPS (UK) transfers take one business day to arrive.
    • FPS (UK) transfers arrive within minutes.
  4. As soon as the funds arrive in your Tremendous account, they’ll be available for use. We’ll send an email to let you know.

Send funds to Tremendous using a money transfer service

If your company is not located in the US, the Single Euro Payments Area, or the United Kingdom, you must create invoices in USD and pay them using a money transfer service.

Money transfer services withdraw money from your bank account, convert it to USD, and send funds to us via ACH (Automated Clearing House), the standard US interbank transfer system, or domestic US wire.

Tremendous cannot accept international wire payments or SWIFT payments for USD invoices. Any international wires will be returned.

  1. Create a USD invoice. This will tell us how much money to expect to receive. The invoice will show you the unique bank account number for your Tremendous account.
  2. Send funds to Tremendous via your money transfer service of choice. Be sure to send the funds in USD. Remember to account for any service or conversion fees from the transfer service.

Wise is the money transfer service we typically recommend. We know Wise works, and their rates are low and predictable. However, you may use any money transfer service as long as it can send money to a US bank account.

  3. Wait for your funds to arrive. Payments from a money transfer service take 1-3 business days to arrive.
  4. As soon as the funds arrive in your Tremendous account, they’ll be available for use. We’ll send an email to let you know.

Payment delays

If the money seems to be taking too long to show up:

  1. Double-check that you’ve entered the correct account details, including the account number, routing number (US), IBAN and BIC (EU), and/or sort code (UK).
  2. If you paid an EUR or GBP invoice, double-check that you included the reference code and ensure that there are no typos. Reference codes are not required for USD invoice payments.
  3. Make sure that your bank or money transfer service has actually sent the money.
  4. Check for banking holidays. If you’re located in Europe or the UK and your bank doesn't have instant transfers enabled, check for UK banking holidays (our bank is located in the UK). If you’re located in the US, or if you paid a USD invoice from outside the US, check the US banking holiday calendar.
  5. If your funds are still taking longer than expected to arrive, reach out to clients@tremendous.com for assistance.
